In-Person Payments
Accept card payments wherever your customers are, at the counter, on the floor, or in the field, with hardware and software built for modern in-person commerce.
In-Person Payments refers to the capability of accepting card and contactless payments at the physical point of interaction between a business and its customer. This covers both dedicated POS hardware (SUNMI P3 Smart Terminal) and software-based solutions (RealPay TAP), enabling businesses to accept payments wherever a transaction needs to happen, at a fixed counter, in an aisle, at a table, at a customer's door, or in a field environment. RealPay's in-person payment solutions are certified to global security standards (EMV), support all major card schemes and digital wallets, and integrate with the broader RealPay platform, meaning in-person transactions feed into the same reporting, reconciliation, and mandate management infrastructure as every other payment channel.
How it works
In-person payments are processed through an NFC-enabled device, either the SUNMI P3 hardware terminal or an NFC-enabled Android smartphone running the RealPay TAP app. The customer presents their card or device, authentication occurs (tap, PIN, or biometric), and real-time authorisation is received from the card network. The transaction is confirmed in seconds.
Business value
- Replaces cash with secure, trackable digital payments, reducing theft risk and cash handling overhead
- Accepts all major card types and digital wallets, covering the full range of customer payment preferences
- Enables mobile and field-based payment acceptance without requiring fixed infrastructure
- Supports mandate capture (via RealPay TAP tokenisation), turning an in-person interaction into an ongoing recurring billing relationship
