Registered Mandate (RM)
The compliant recurring collections solution for business accounts and dual-signatory mandates. Where DebiCheck cannot reach, Registered Mandate takes over.
Registered Mandate (RM) is RealPay's mandate-based recurring collections product designed specifically for juristic (business) accounts and bank accounts that require dual-signatory approval, account types that are explicitly excluded from the DebiCheck authentication framework.
Where many businesses assume DebiCheck covers their entire collections portfolio, Registered Mandate fills the gap. It modernises the traditional debit order by formally registering the mandate with the customer's bank through a centralised system, improving compliance, increasing mandate visibility, and providing the customer with full transparency over what is being collected from their account.
While Registered Mandate collections remain disputable (unlike DebiCheck's authenticated model), the formal registration process and Credit Tracking feature make it a robust and compliant solution for business-to-business collections. Credit Tracking automatically retries failed collections over the mandate term, recovering revenue without requiring manual follow-up from your collections team.
What's included
Juristic Account Collections
The only compliant recurring collections option for business accounts and dual-signatory accounts that cannot participate in the DebiCheck system.
Centralised Mandate Registration
Mandates are formally registered with the customer's bank through an industry-managed system, ensuring regulatory compliance and providing the customer with transparent, auditable visibility over what is being collected.
Credit Tracking, Automated Retry
When a collection fails, Credit Tracking automatically schedules resubmission attempts over the mandate term, recovering revenue from temporary failures without any manual intervention from your team.
Full Regulatory Compliance
RM operates within the PASA-mandated framework for registered debit mandates, ensuring your collections meet current payment regulation requirements.
Enhanced Customer Transparency
Unlike unregistered debit orders, RM gives the payer full visibility of the mandate details with their bank before any collection runs, improving trust and reducing disputes.

Frequently asked questions
What is the key difference between Registered Mandate and DebiCheck?
DebiCheck is designed for consumer accounts and requires real-time bank authentication from the customer. Registered Mandate is designed for business (juristic) accounts and dual-signatory accounts, where real-time authentication is not feasible. Both are compliant, but they serve different account types.
Why can't DebiCheck be used for business account collections?
PASA's DebiCheck framework is designed specifically for individual consumer bank accounts. Business accounts, trusts, and dual-signatory accounts require a different mandate registration process, which is what Registered Mandate provides.
Are Registered Mandate collections disputable?
Yes. Unlike DebiCheck, RM collections are not dispute-proof. However, the formal mandate registration and bank visibility significantly reduce the likelihood of legitimate disputes.
How does Credit Tracking improve collection success?
When a collection fails, Credit Tracking automatically retries on subsequent business days within the mandate window, recovering payments from temporary insufficient funds without requiring your team to manually resubmit.
Is Registered Mandate a regulatory requirement?
Yes. PASA requires that debit mandates collected from registered business entities be formalised through the Registered Mandate system to ensure compliance and customer protection.
